New year's and Early January

Can't believe that Kyle is almost 2 months old!  He still sleeps all curled up which I love!  He is starting to laugh and always has great expressions on his face!  He doesn't really cry and so far he is pretty easy!
He was holding his hands up and out in front of him!  It was so funny but the picture doesn't do it justice!
Allie had a birthday to go to on New Year's Eve day.  It was her friend Faith from school and it rained really hard!  She has older siblings so she didn't mind playing outside on the jump house in the rain, but Allie would have nothing to do with it!  She sat inside with the adults and when we left left she said, " that sure was a great party, right mom?"  I was surprised since she didn't play with them!
New Year's Day we had friends over for a get together.  Nothing fancy and it was planned two days before!
 Silly girls!
The gang
This cracks me up because we were matching and did not even realize it until this photo!  AND it looks like Kyle is Allison's baby!  (plus I look so short...)
 A little Daddy time!
Allie is a great big sister and she loves to hold Kyle.  She is learning that she needs to let Mommy be the Mommy though!
 Fun times with Baby Brother
Check out what his shirt says and look at these two pictures!  Too funny!!!!!
He spends SO much more time in his car seat than Allie ever did at this age!  Since Allie is still in school 5 days a week (til the end of Jan), doing gymnastics, and we just started ballet;  he gets out a lot!!!!
 Such a happy baby!
And not such a happy baby!!!  LOVE the lower lip!!

 And a happy baby again!
I looked down and saw his hand on mine when he was eating...  Sweet boy!
Mondays are crazy with school and gymnastics, so trying to get dinner ready afterwards has not been too successful.  Jon loves the Mongolian grill so why not?  Allie is using chopsticks!  She is the most coordinated 3 year old I know!  Even better than me with them!
This is before his shots at his two month check up!  He only got half of them because I have decided to space them out like I did with Allie's 2 year ones.  I have just read too much and heard about too many people with problems and whether or not it is 100% the vaccines, I would rather not take the chance and find out!
I finally went to get allergy testing done before Christmas and found out that not only am I allergic to nuts, but also milk and eggs!!!!  GO figure!  I was tested for lactose intolerance in middle school and that came back negative.  But I have had IBS since middle school and no one could ever figure out how to fix it... NOW I know!  And I know dairy bothers Allie and Kyle as well!
I also figure out why Kyle's hands and feet were always stinky- it was the feta cheese I was eating on my salads every day! HAHA!!!  I am pretty sure there are other foods that bother him because I could tell when I was pregnant that certain things made him VERY squirmy and hiccup violently... And as I type this I am eating my vegan chocolate cake!  It's an adjustment as everything has dairy and eggs in it and eating out is nearly impossible- but I am up for the challenge!
Faces of Kyle...Jon was watching them one night and when I came home he showed me all the pictures he had taken!  And then he learned to do a screen shot of them and get this collage!  LOVE IT!  You can see all his fun faces and how super animated he is!

Christmas 2012

I have decided that I do not do holidays well! I always have in my mind how I think they should turn out and they never do, so I end up feelings let down!  I have always wanted large family gatherings where everyone hangs out all day and cooks together and plays games and it is relaxed and fun.  Ours always seem to be stressful trying to get everything ready for everyone to eat and then everyone goes home.  I guess it only happens in the movies or if you live far away and people come to stay with you.
Oh well, we had a good Christmas with the Austin Klubniks coming in late the day before Christmas eve and then a quiet Christmas day at our house with our parents.
The first time Kyle cried actual tears was right when they arrived because he was so hungry! I had already fed him several times, and I was trying to defrost some milk and he thought I was starving him!  I had never seen him so upset and cry before!  It was sad but funny at the same time because he had already eaten soooo much!
But the next morning he woke up happy!  And now he is actually smiling real smiles!  It is so cute to see and I love trying to get him to smile!  He really is a happy baby!
Presents time! (as you can tell, it was very warm -again!) I was a total slacker this year and did all gift cards! Kim got me the best gift (especially since I did not even tell her about them) and I was totally surprised!  What was it you ask?  Natural food coloring by India Tree!  I am too cheap to spend the money on them and she saw them and thought I might want them!  And she had no idea I had been eyeing them for almost a year! And Jon got me a printer that is now located downstairs so I can actually use it!  Very happy about that!!!!
Klubniks
We decided to not go to First Baptist for Christmas eve candle light service as we had in the past because it is too far away now.  So we went to a small church out here by us and it was good.  We ran into several friends that we had not seen in many years.

This is how Kyle spent his first time in church!  He did really well and didn't make a sound!

Nana and Pops
Christmas day we opened presents and then had the grandparents over.  Allie got a new scooter because all the kids on the block have them and she wanted to be able to ride outside with the big kids too!  She got a lot of craft supplies also as she loves to make, paint, color, and decorate things.  I love that she is so good at entertaining herself and she has a lot of talent!
Grandma and Grandpa
We took some family shots although none really turned out as I was hoping...  3 of us had our striped leggings on though!  Kyle actually looks like he is smiling for the camera in this picture!

I decided to take Kyle to the Dr. to get his acne checked out because it was so bad and now there were yellow scabs on his head and ears.  BTW, never take your child to the Dr.  after a weekend and a Monday holiday!  It was CRAZY busy!  What was I thinking!!!???   We love their Dr. and I was so glad that I did bring him in because as he said- it was very severe and gave us some medicine for it!  He also has cradle cap and his belly button never healed  so he needed some medicine for that as well!  And at 6 weeks, he weighs 11.5 lbs!
Then next day was my birthday- 2 more years until I am officially old!  Allie and I made cupcakes and a cake and of course used our new food coloring to decorate!  It took a good part of the day because Kyle kept wanting to eat or be held and I did most of the decorating with one hand and holding him!  Allie did several cupcakes on her own and they looked great!
This picture cracks me up because Kyle's head looks as big as Allie's!  Actually he has a big head and she has a very small one so it's not to far off!
Kyle looks like he is just hanging out!

That night (lots of rain) we met my parents at Benihana for dinner.  It is a fun place to go and I thought Allie would enjoy it!  She loves their onion soup and ate 2 bowls of it!  Again Kyle is barefoot because it was so hot in the restaurant and he is hot natured like his dad!  But I love seeing his feet even if he looks silly!
And of course it was time for cake!
She cracks me up trying to blow out the candles!  She doesn't quite get how to do it and she also can't figure out how to blow her nose!
I LOVE this look on his face!!!!! ( we were listening to jim brickman on Pandora)
Kyle's face started clearing up after 2 days and his face looks sooo much better!  He started cooing when I put the medicine on him so I think it was bothering him no matter how many websites said that they are not bothered by it...
37 was a good year...

Weeks 5-6

Weeks 5-6
Allie was out of school for Christmas so I was a little worried about having both of them all day, but it turned out great!  Allie has been a great helper and big sister!  He has been having some growth spurts so the sleeping 4-5 hours at night has not continued!  And he has REALLY bad baby acne on his face, ears, neck, and head!  It looks painful although everyone says is is not bothered by it...
Sporting the new hair do!  I do love having an I phone because I can take so many pictures of him!
My favorite part about the newborn stage is the way they stayed curled up when you pick them up or put them down.  I also love it when he stretches!
We went out one night for pizza with Allie and Kyle and afterwards went to go look at James Avery to pick out my charm for Kyle.  Allie loved it and liked all the pretty jewelry!  She wants to know when she can get her ears pierced! (many more years...)
And I also love it when he sleeps like this!
You can see the acne in this picture pretty good!  Luckily, it didn't show up real good in pictures!  Poor guy!
Allie's second dentist visit and this time NO cavities!  She was not excited to go back on her own to get x-rays, but when they let me back there this is what I saw!  She sat perfectly still and did SO good!
The day we went to see Santa it was about 80 degrees outside!  I went ahead and dressed Allie in her Christmas stuff but as you can see by Kyle's feet- it was warm!  He is very hot natured like Jon (I on the other hand am always cold)  Allie did great with Santa and told him she wanted a princess doll.  She also kept asking me if she was on the naughty list!  We don't tell her Santa is real but we still like to enjoy the traditions!  She told Jon that he was real though so we will just take it year by year!
Jim and Peggi met us at the store and we had lunch with them afterwards
Another picture of the bumps ...
A few days before Christmas, my good friend, Diana,  from college came to visit us as they were in town visiting family.  They have Noa who is a year older than Allie and Ricardo who is a year older than Kyle!  Always so fun to see friends!!!
I tried taking some pictures for Christmas cards but they didn't quite turn out the way I wanted!
Look who is smiling!!!  And its early in the development chart!  Way to go Kyle!! And thanks to Libbie, Kyle had this cute Santa outfit!  It just has not gotten cold enough to wear it!
I am not sure why I tried taking pictures before feeding him because he was hungry!!!  Oh well we tried!
Making chocolate chip cookies.  I love having Allie help me in the kitchen.  I think it will be good bonding time for us over the years!
I am pretty sure that his face does not feel good!  His eyebrows and eyelashes have started to come in darker.  I think his eyelashes are going to be long and think like Allie's! (hope so!)
Too much fun for one day!
The annual gingerbread house decorating! (thanks to the Austin Klubniks for that tradition!)  This year my nieces didn't want to come which was really sad for Allie, but our sweet neighbor Anna came over and helped.  They had fun and it was not too messy!  Allie also go to  see the Really Big Christmas show at church again this year with Jon (another thing my nieces decided they didn't want to do with us this year)  She was so excited about the "Ballerina" who was actually the acrobat who dances on the long ribbons hanging from the ceiling.

The finished product!  I accidentally picked up a train instead of the house- but it was cute!
Memories of Kyle weeks 5-6
Lots of acne, crazy super feedings in the evenings, his first real smiles, outgrowing all newborn clothes, and being such a great baby who doesn't really ever cry!!
So Thankful for a healthy, happy baby boy!
