Trip to San Antonio

January 6, we went to San Antonio for a long weekend.  We used our time share and thought this would be great since we would not have to fly and we used hardly any points.  WE drove up on Friday afternoon with a stop for dinner on the way.  Jon Took Allie outside to play ring around the Rosie for awhile since it was going to be a long ride still to go.  But since it was dark, he didn't notice the stickers and thorns that were all over the "grass"!  Poor Allie!!! She fell right onto them and her little bottom was all torn up!  Not a fun ride for her after that!
Saturday morning we went to a super fun Farmer's Market.  We got lots of fun veggies and Grass fed meat. (I will post later about our food adventures this year)
The weather was great and it was so pretty!
I wish Houston had fun things like this!
Jon found GREEN eggs at the farmer's market!  Yes they are a light shade of green but they are still yellow inside! So, now you know - they actually do exist!
A fun park in the resort.
 Daddy was a good sport!
She is really strong and can hold herself up the whole time!
 Daddy is still trying!  :O)
Sunday, it got cold- really cold!  This is  great park by the boardwalk and convention center.
Walking on the "balance beam"
It looks like she is posing in this picture!
 Watcha doing Daddy???
We had to visit one Mexican food place while we were there and this one was crazy!
Allie was writing her thank you cards for Christmas!
I got to have some time out on Sunday and I found a super great grocery store called "Sprouts".  Almost everything in the store was organic and it was cheaper than HEB non organic prices!  Plus they were so helpful.  I even went back before we left to stock up on more food since we had the cooler with us and we drove!  Supposedly, they are opening stores in Houston soon.
Later that day, Jon took Allie to the airport which was only a couple minutes away to watch the airplanes from on top of the garage.  It was LOUD and COLD though!

We were going to stay all week, but as it got cold and rainy (flooded back in Houston), we decided to go home Monday night.  We went to the outlet mall in San Marcos and also stopped at a new indoor trampoline place.  We had the whole thing to ourselves and it was lots of fun!
My IPhone was not able to capture how fast Jon was jumping!  :O)
All ready to go! We had dinner one of Jon's college friend's family before we left.  It was fun to meet them and Jon had not seen them in long time!
She was glad to have so many of her toys with her
Jon has always sung "Buttercup" to me (actually his version) and now Allie sings it too.  She is dancing to it in this video and I love it because she will not be wearing diapers much longer!  Even now she is dry almost every nap time and about 3 nights a week.  But she still looks so cute with it on!
The place that we stayed at was not that great.  It definitely looked better in pictures!  We had a animal of some sort in the wall the first night and then a few too many big bugs!  We were glad we went, but we were also glad that we could leave early!

Ms. South Carolina's house

We week before Thanksgiving, we went to Hilton Head South Carolina for 6 days.  The first nice thing about the trip was how NICE everyone was at the airport!   We think they must have had some sensitivity training and actually became polite!  They even added some fun chairs for the little ones!
We used our timeshare and points on Southwest, so it was a really cheap vacation!  We stayed on the beach and had a great time!  I had wanted to get some S.C. BBQ and boiled peanuts while we were there and didn't do either!  We did have some SUPER yummy seafood though!
Allie and "George" the monkey!
Our balcony and Allie was coloring
There were SO many marsh lands that even though we were on the beach, we still had this super long boardwalk to get to it!
The pool, but it was a little too chilly for us (although we did swim in the indoor one when it was raining one day)
Somehow I never remember to take a picture before the mess happens!
Feeding the ducks
So pretty!
OK Daddy, try and get up!
Allie got to go pony riding AGAIN!    She has ridden at least 12 times in the past year!  Watch out Daddy, she is going to want a pony one day for Christmas!  (Mommy too)
Giddy-up!
There were so many neat little places to go on the island to do all sorts of different things.
We went on a walk through a little forest area.  During our outing, Allie had to go potty and she didn't quite squat all the way and uh oh!!!
I was trying to change her clothes without getting her dirty!  She is actually laughing, you just can't tell!!
Lunch afterwards at the Salty Dog Cafe.  So much yummy seafood and not enough time!  Each section of the island has a cute little village area with restaurants, shops and fun things to do.  (more so in the summer!)
Trying out the new feature on the I-Phone where you can see yourself as you take it...
We went to the beach usually a couple times a day mainly because Allie loved walking on the "balance beam" on the boardwalk and playing in the sand!
The sand was actually very pretty; white and clean!

We left our mark on Hilton Head!

watching a show with her babies!
 At the beach again
Pretty sunsets, but bad for the hair as the fog rolls in and it gets humid!!

So glad I brought the hat otherwise I would have had BAD hair!
"Let's get in the water Daddy!"
 "NO WAY!  Too cold!!"
 Building sandcastles instead

 "Ready to go!"
WE took a day trip to Beaufort which was about an hour awhile.  I thought it was the Beaufort that all the Nicholas Sparks books take place in... but that is actually in North Carolina!  Part of Bubba Gump was filmed here though!
 Lots of marsh lands!
I had Jon drive through a neighborhood that I found online and it was SO COOL!  It was like a movie set and didn't seem real at all!  Absolutely beautiful and none of my pictures did it any justice!
Dinner at a Yummy seafood restaurant!  We had gone to the other one on the other side of the island a few nights prior and decided to go back to their other one!  The shrimp and crab were so yummy!
 Going swimming
 Playing follow the leader
Now what are we going to do??  One day during Allie's nap, I went to go play BINGO at the resort and I won every single game! (all 4) and got free drinks, ice cream, and wings!
We actually got her to sleep on the plane home and a good thing because it was Thanksgiving Day and everyone was coming over a couple hours after we got home!  She looks so sweet when she is sleeping!
Back in Houston!
Fun things about Hilton Head:  There were lots of forests with oak trees with moss (hair hanging down because they needed a haircut), No lights at night because of the sea turtles which made it very hard to find anything after 5!, Great place to go even if you never play golf, outlet shops, Lots of fun little villages, great beaches, and Super yummy seafood!  Did I mention that already??  It was a great trip and I think it is a place we will definitely try to go back to.  Allie affectionately refers to this place as Ms. South Carolina's house!
