A little of this and a little of that

A lot of our photos and videos are on Jon's I phone and I realized tonight that I have not posted much because of that!  Technology is great for capturing memories because you can videotape everything!  SO here is a little bit of everything that we have been up to for the last month and a half!
We went to the beach in late Feb. and it turned out to be COLD and foggy, but Allie enjoyed the mud; I mean sand!
We went to Herman Park a few times while my Grandma was in Hospice as she was right by it.  Allie LOVED the train and it was a beautiful day.
This picture was taken in Jan. 2010 when my grandma came down for a few weeks and we were celebrating her 81st B-day.  She passed away this March 1st while she was down here visiting.  I am so glad Allie got to spend time with her and we have some special memories of her with Allie now.  Allie did SO good with her when we would visit her in the hospital and she was always so excited to bring her something special to put in her room.  Allie still wants to pray for her every day!
Allie loves to help me do things (well actually she loves to do them on her own!).  We made banana bread for my parents.
She thinks she should be able to get whatever she wants out of the fridge!  I keep her yogurt in this fridge, so she is always digging around to see what else she can find!
Friday after my Grandma died, we took my Aunt and Uncle and mom to the Livestock show (no Rodeo).  My mom was such a trooper as I remember how much I did not want to be around large crowds after the boys died and she did great!  Allie had a blast riding the huge slide!  She went 3 times; once with Jon, with my mom and with me!  Make sure and watch the end of the video. She wasn't too excited about the livestock, but she enjoyed riding the bus to get there and back and eating the corn and all the carnival stuff!

Allie was sick over Spring Break and even most of the following week!  I can't get over how different she looks with her hair cut and how much it curls now!
Our friends' Lincoln and Priscilla's little girl Savannah had her 2nd B-day party this past Saturday and Elmo was invited!  At first, Allie loved him, but after 5 minutes the terror set in!  Get a good look at her face!  You would think we were torturing her!
Trying out her new life jacket.  We will start swim lessons again next week, and yes I mean "we" as I have to be in the water with her!
Jon decided it was warm enough to go swimming...  Allie thought it was hysterical!

I found this scene the other day when I got out of the shower!  She was supposed to be in my room where I could see her, but she opened the door and went to get all of this and set up a little tea party with pizza!  Too cute!
We will also start potty training this next week as Allie keeps saying "no diaper!"  Wish us luck!

Allie's two year pictures

I had these taken at the end of January for her two year birthday.  I am a little slow posting them, but I did get frames for them today!  I was not wanting to be in the pictures, but I knew from the last time that I may have to if I want to get any of her!  It turned out to be fun and I am happy that I got some cute ones of us.
If you look closely, you will see the teddy bears in the above picture.  I think they will be in many more family photos to come!  I even made little blue ties to match Allie's dress for them.  I love her looking down because it shows her beautiful eyelashes and she looks so sweet!
We love you sweet Allie and are SO BLESSED that you are our little girl!  God knew we needed you and we couldn't be happier to be your parents!  Just don't grow up too fast!  :O)

Innocence of a child...

Conversation with Allie:
While driving home tonight, Allie was talking about Great Grandma's boo-boo and I said "remember her boo-boo is gone and she is OK now.  She lives in heaven now."
She said "yes!"
Then I asked her who else was in heaven and she said "babies" and I said "whose babies? "
"Mommies"
Then I asked her what are their names'.  I had to say Michael first but then she said
"Jake"
We talked about how Great Grandma was helping to take care of our babies for us as we drove home.

Then at home while getting ready for bed, she brings me the picture of Michael and Jake and points to Jake and says "Jake."
Then she points to Michael and says "Michael!"
I then asked her who Michael and Jake are and she said,
"Brothers!"
I sure wish life was that simple and instead of looking at a picture of them, we were kissing their sweet little faces!
We love you Michael and Jake!

We also love you Great Grandma and we were so sad when you left us on Tuesday night... Allie still says "Great Grandma; boo-boo.  PRAY!"  and so we do!  So thankful for the time we got to spend with her during her last days here on earth!

Allie's First Haircut

Allie's hair has always been longer on the top and I finally decided that it would be a good time to get it cut.  My thought was that it would grow out with a style instead of all crazy like it has been. There are a couple of places in Sugar Land that are fun for kids and I chose Snip-it's. Jon and I picked her up after MDO and wouldn't you know it; she had finally taken a nap there! Unfortunately, we had to wake her up after only 30 minutes of sleeping!
I knew that she would probably cry when they tried to cut her hair, but I was not expecting what happened!  Also, note to self:  next time talk to the hairstylist BEFORE they try to cut her hair!  What I was trying to communicate to her didn't come out at all like I wanted (about 3 inches shorter!!!)  And if she says "that's not a haircut...  Ask for a different stylist!)
You can see it in her eyes that she is not trusting the promise that it will be OK!
Notice the lollipop that she is gripping in her hand (in each picture)!

She finally realized that it didn't hurt and it wasn't so bad!

She wanted her bow ASAP once she was done!
She looks like she did last year at this time with her hair so short!  I just hope it grows fast!  I did manage to put pig-tails in the other day.... they were about 1/2 long though!!!  I will say that it has grown on me and I still think she is the most beautiful little girl!
She had had enough and was done!!!  I wanted to have the pictures and memories of her first real haircut, but I think I should have just done it myself and saved her the trauma!  Poor baby!
