Trip to Denver

We went to Denver to visit some friends who moved there a few years back and Jon had a conference to go to for a week. We left Friday morning on the 6:20AM flight (too early!) and got to Denver about 9AM. The flight went OK, Allie is just a bit squirmy and wants to explore everything! We had breakfast; for the second time that day, and then went to a great park near downtown called Washington Park. It was fabulous and the weather was perfect! Allie had to stop and pet every dog and say "ARF", "ARF" each time! Then we went to Chris and Susie's house so we could all take a much needed nap! Allie got to meet little Tobin who is 7 months old and she really enjoyed pretending to be a baby again! :O)

On Saturday we took a day trip to Estes Park to do a little hiking. What we didn't realize is that it had snowed 6 inches the night before and Hiking was not EASY. On the way there, Allie was very persistent in having some of my water from the water bottle and she grabbed it and spilled all over her! WE had to find a laundry mat right when we got there. we stripped her down and dried the clothes (of course with everything else I packed, I didn't pack extra clothes...) We had lunch in town and then headed to the National Park to try to hike.

Afterwards, some friends from church had just gotten up there to help her mom move into her new house and we to help them unload and say HI! Sunday, we hung around the house and then went on a hike.

They live in the perfect neighborhood with the foothills less than a mile away with great trails everywhere!

Afterwards, we the guys grilled out for dinner and after a few games of dominoes, it was time for bed as we had another 6:20AM flight!! I was afraid Allie and I were going to miss our plane as we got to the airport 40 minutes before takeoff and if you know the Denver airport.... BUT, we made it- and Allie did Great on the plane.

It was a great trip and we really enjoyed our time with friends!
