Christmas Eve 2009

December 23rd found me cleaning house for yet another house showing and getting a call from Jon reminding me that his brother's family was coming that night. Somehow I had thought I had another day before they came, but I can honestly say most days I have no idea what day it is; so it was no surprise to me that I had completely missed a day! Well, at least the house was clean! We celebrated with Jon's family at our house on Christmas Eve and went to First Baptist that night for church. It was a lot of fun to have everyone over and Allie thoroughly enjoyed all the attention and had a great time!
She even surprised us all by standing on her own for a good 8-10 seconds while Jon yelled "look, look!!"
There was a very special gift that Jon's mom gave to Allie that was actually from Jon's Grandmother who had died 4 years ago. She had made this doll just in case Jon had a little girl one day!

So sweet and SO special! She was loving on the dollie as soon as she unwrapped it!
Allie also go to eat Blintz for the first time, which is a Russian breakfast tradition in Jon's family (crepes with cottage cheese, sour cream and preserves-REALLY YUMMY) and she loved it! This year Kim made them taking the load off of Jon's mom as they take a lot of work to make.
Allie did a great job during church sitting like a little lady perfectly calm and attentive! And no, she was not sitting with me, Aunt Kim had the magic touch with her! It was a great Christmas Eve and next will be Christmas Day...
